about

‘Glass Plains’ is the first single from Albert Salt’s upcoming EP.
Featuring the immensely talented Alex Lahey and Ollie Whitehead on saxophone.

Influenced by jazz of Herbie Hancock and the trip/hip-hop production of Massive Attack, Portishead, Radiohead.

Written as a second person narrative, ‘Glass Plains’ portrays an internal conflict, exploring our tendency to premeditate and perform actions, before analysing them hypercritically.

lyrics

Ponder
With doubt,
Thoughts I make
You think without.

Go through
One more change of your moods;
Moulded by a muse that
May be you.

These are
Likely
Balladry;
Make-believe.

Oh one drink; you wouldn’t know
If I didn’t tell you so.
But on your steam; a lone routine; dressed up at home, you balance beam it

I’ll be there when you’re older;
Slower and colder;
Desperately sober.
Chasing dread ‘till you’re braver;
Real misbehaviour;
Fear we can savour.

Wonder;
You were such a charming child.
A girl more set than wild;
And yet you’re so reviled.

An endless ballad
Entirely make-believe
One less lie we saw
Was you there with me.

If you can't say no
if you cant say no
if you cant, if you cant, if you cant say no

If you can't say no
if you cant say no
if you cant, if you cant, if you cant say no

If you can't say no
If you can't say no
If you can't, if you can't, if you can't say no.

If you can't say no
If you can't say no
If you can't, if you can't, if you can't say no.

I’ll be there when you’re older;
Slower and colder;
Desperately sober.
Chasing dread ‘till you’re braver;
Real misbehaviour;
Fear we can savour.

I’ll be there when you’re older;
Slower and colder;
Desperately sober.
Chasing dread ‘till you’re braver;
Real misbehaviour;
Fear we can savour.
