about
Evaline is the latest single from multi-instrumentalist musician and producer, Albert Salt.
Influenced by the jazz-fusion of Herbie Hancock, the work of J Dilla and MF DOOM, and the trip-hip sounds of Massive Attack, Portishead, Radiohead, Evaline is a deeply personal piece that displays the trajectory of Alberts music.
Evaline has been mixed by Flamingo Jones and mastered by Ben Feggans (Flume, Flight Facilities, Cut Copy).
lyrics
Let me firstly say
I know better than to guess
How you’re feeling
I tend to overplay
What you think, but nonetheless,
Here’s my turn
Evaline, you know
All those girls? They’re gone.
You’ve not been the same;
Seeing one thing to the next
With a ceiling
An echoed, untold, lingering world
Of Hollywood girls,
Void of worth, at all now.
Evaline, you know
All those girls? They’re gone.
I’ve left it ‘till today,
Three drinks courage to express
What I’ve said
I know you’re gonna say
I’m a mess, well yeah, I am, but this is us
You know?
This brazen, lonesome, fanciful dress,
See that its worn,
Not carefully torn to shreds
That echoed, untold, lingering world
Of Hollywood girls,
Have moved on with their show.
Evaline, you know
All those girls? They’re gone.
Evaline, you know
All those girls? They’re gone.
Evaline, you know
All those girls? They’re gone.
